Stop and smell the roses
Today, my friend Peter (who is full of ideas for unusual places to go) took me to a place that sells nothing but artificial flowers. Who would have thought that there are enough people in Brisbane who buy fake plants to make it worthwhile opening a store full of them. I loved it, even though a lot of the plants could be found cheaper in Crazy Clarks, and have proudly carried home something to liven up my courtyard. I wonder how many people will notice the fake among the real. If you stop to smell my roses you'll be disapointed.

I hope you paid with monopoly money.
ReplyDeleteArtificial flowers don't die from lack of water! Keep up with the blogging .... it's like being on holiday with you but cheaper (and not so much fun either!)
ReplyDeleteFrom the pic they convince me!
ReplyDelete3rd time lucky with trying to leave a comment
ReplyDeleteWhat did you do on the third time to get lucky? I'm still trying to figure out why some people can comment and some can't.
DeleteTrying again. This time in the "Reply as" drop down box I chose "Name/URL" - looks like it might actually work this time! Fingers crossed.
DeleteYay1 Laurel - success!
DeleteIs it because they can't quite identify the code letters and numbers they have to type. Sometimes they are clearer than others, but you are given a second chance.
ReplyDeleteMy mother has fake orchids in her wardrobe that she puts into her greenhouse when her real orchids aren't blooming. All her friends think she's a miracle-worker in the garden!!
ReplyDelete(You can see I'm able to comment now...although you amy live to regret it!)
Not a chance Suellen. I miss our chats, I learned a lot.
DeleteThe lady who does the floral arrangements at our church mixes fake flowers with real ones. I love looking at them from a distance and trying to guess which are real and which are fake. It's amazing how often I have to go right up and feel them before I can decide which are fake or real.
ReplyDeleteYolanda
Actually, it's not that hard to pick the fake ones in my garden - they're the ones that aren't dead.
DeleteNothing wrong with a bit of fake. Fake hair, fake suntan, fake plant. As long as the real ones don't get upset and die on purpose.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who is sooooooo into the U43A. She is addicted. Very worthwhile time spent by you I feel. Sure they'll learn alot from you.
Looking forward to next time.
